Phoenix Suns: Projected wins – 27

I feel like everybody is ready for the Phoenix Suns to succeed. The fans love Devin Booker, and with the addition of this year’s top pick Deandre Ayton, fans are looking for the “next Shaq and Kobe” to take the league by storm.

Unfortunately, I don’t expect that to happen this season. That said, this team is going to be a fun group to watch.

Over the course of the last two seasons, Booker has increased his ball handling duties, and has proven to be an excellent pick-and-roll ball handler. Even better news? Ayton is a really good pick and roll big.

Ayton has the ability to roll to the rim, and has the range to pop for a mid-range jumper. His presence around the rim will create some excellent scoring opportunities for Booker, and take some of the defensive pressure off of him.

To go along with these two, the Suns added Trevor Ariza and Ryan Anderson, who can space the floor and hit the long ball, as they proved during their time with the Houston Rockets. And returning is second year player Josh Jackson, who had an excellent second half of the season, and is an athletic freak.

The Suns aren’t going to win a ton of games, but they’re going to be fun to watch, as we’ll get to see how they balance Ayton’s post up game with the pace and space style the majority of the league has adapted to.
