Breaking down seven players who, entering the 2018-19 NBA season, are in desperate need of a breakout season

For some teams, training camp officially tips off in a few days. By the end of next week, NBA pre-season games will be underway for teams across the league.

In summary, the offseason is in the books and the basketball is about to begin. And while we did see some interesting player movement during the summer, I’m still not convinced we’ve seen anything crazy like many NBA pundits expected, or even predicted. With that said, it’s hard to say that the 2018 NBA summer disappointed, especially if we’re treated with a Jimmy Butler trade as a parting gift.

But now that transaction season is just about over, we’re going to slowly pivot to actual basketball. Games that actually matter, and statistics that we can break down instead of just speculating about.

With that said, let’s take a look at seven NBA players who, for one reason or another, are in desperate need of a breakout season in 2018-19.
