NBA Rumors: Kyle Lowry is reportedly giving the silent treatment to the Toronto Raptors, and it could be because of what transpired over the summer
Over the summer, the Toronto Raptors elects to go all-in on the 2018-19 NBA season, and in this situation it involved moving their best player on the roster for Kawhi Leonard.
The big problem with that, however, is that their best player also happened to be really – and I mean, really – good friends with their second best player on the roster, Kyle Lowry. And now, Lowry is apparently still upset about how it all went down.
So much so that he’s reportedly giving the team the silent treatment, which needs to be monitored as the season begins.

"[via TSN]per league sources, Lowry had also been dodging calls and texts from team officials, including president Masai Ujiri and new head coach Nick Nurse, who Lowry said he only spoken with briefly right after Nurse was promoted in June."
This could end up being one of those things that continues to snowball into something bigger, especially if the Raptors struggle out of the gate this season or don’t mesh as well as many expect them to with their new pieces.
This is certainly a storyline to follow as the season progresses. It should also be noted that Lowry’s contract expires after next season, which could come into play next summer if this fallout continues to grow and expand.
For now, though, this isn’t anything big. If Lowry wanted to make it something, he would’ve done that a long time ago. Perhaps as soon as DeMar DeRozan was dealt, if in fact that’s the biggest reason why he’s mad.
The Toronto Raptors have high hopes for this season, and a lot of that depends on Lowry and their new acquisition, Kawhi Leonard. This is not the time for shenanigans.
