NBA Trade Rumors: As the Jimmy Butler saga continues, we explore which big name could be the next star to demand a trade next

For the past few years, it seems like every six months we get another disgruntled NBA star that grows tired of his situation and demands a trade. Just over the last year, the three players that have done that are Kyrie Irving, Kawhi Leonard and now Jimmy Butler.

Question is, who will be the next star to do the same?

And one name that quickly comes to mind when I think of who could be next is Anthony Davis. For the first six years of his careers, Davis has worked hard and gotten better every year. He’s one of the most underrated bigs in the NBA and is still considered a superstar. That should tell you enough about his talent.

More from Sir Charles In Charge

He’s coming off one of the best statistical (and heathy) seasons of his career, in which he averaged 28 points, 11 rebounds and nearly three blocks per game. He also shot a career-high 53 percent from the field and 34 percent from 3-point range.

Throughout his six-year career in New Orleans, he’s only made the playoffs twice and made it beyond the first round once (this past season).

He’s said all the right things to the media, and how he loves New Orleans. However, every player eventually hits a breaking point. And with two guaranteed years left on his contract, it’s officially time to keep an eye on the Davis-Pelicans situation.

And the fact that he just switched agents and signed with Rich Paul of Klutch Sports makes all this that much more interesting. This is not to say that Paul is going to force him out of New Orleans, but it does give the Pelicans all that much more to think about.

If this team, who lost DeMarcus Cousins this summer, gets off to a slow start this season, the whispers are only going to grow. If there’s going to be another star to demand a trade this season, don’t be surprised if it’s Anthony Davis, who has done nothing but given the New Orleans Pelicans everything.
