NBA Trade Rumors: Don’t expect Jimmy Butler to be traded anytime soon
NBA Trade Rumors: From everything we’ve heard today, it doesn’t appear that Jimmy Butler is going to get traded soon
From everything we’ve heard – from all the great reporters and insiders out there – I think it’s safe to say that we shouldn’t expect a Jimmy Butler trade anytime soon.
Over the last 24-36 house, there have been numerous times when it felt like a Jimmy Butler bomb was about to drop. However, that certainly has cooled from everything that we’ve heard today. And it started off with some disappointing news for fans of any team believing they had a shot at the all-star shooting guard.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted out that the Wolves’ asking price for Jimmy Butler is still extremely high, even for teams most engaged in discussions (the Heat). Which is leaving some teams curious about whether the Wolves are genuinely trying to move him after all.
It was then reported that during initial discussions with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Wolves demanded for Ben Simmons to be included in any trade for Jimmy Butler. Which is something.
In fact, if Butler was still on a long-term deal this would still be a terrible demand from Thibs. Throw in the fact that the Wolves have almost no leverage, and this offer is even more that egregious.
From the sound of everything that we’ve heard in the last few days, the three teams that I’d have to say are “in” on the Jimmy Butler sweepstakes are the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets.
The big question, however, is whether or not Thibs is going to ever drop the price on his all-star. If not, then this is going to continue to be a story. Butler has stated that he wants to sit out training camp until he is dealt, but Thibs said when training camp opened that he’d like to see Butler return to practice if he wasn’t dealt by next week.
Then, the day after, Thibs said he would trade Butler.
…
So, does, anyone really know what’s going between the Wolves and Butler?
