Boston gives Golden State a run for their money in the NBA Finals

Boston was a very good team last season, making it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals, losing to LeBron and the Cavs in seven games. They did all of this in the playoffs without Kyrie Irving, who was out with a knee injury.

Jaylen Brown was brilliant all year, averaging 14.5 points per game during the season then averaging 18 a game during the playoffs. Rookie Jayson Tatum stepped up and played extremely well all season too, leading Boston in the playoffs with 18.5 points per contest.

Other guys like Terry Rozier, veteran Al Horford, and Marcus Morris all clutched up when they needed to in the playoffs. Their mix of young players and experience really worked out well and helped them make a serious playoff run.

Add in Kyrie Irving back in the picture and Gordon Hayward back from a brutal left leg injury, and the Celtics are going to be unbelievable, there’s no doubt about it. Hayward and Irving are both All-Star caliber type players who have looked very good playing with one another so far during the preseason.

I firmly believe Boston is the only team that can really compete with Golden State this season, so don’t be surprised to see Hayward and Irving lead the Celtics to the NBA Finals next June.
