Team Outlook:
The Brooklyn Nets are another team entering another year in redeveloping a new team and organizational culture. General manager Sean Marks is entering his third year in the leadership position with the Nets and we can say finally this year’s roster bears completely his fingerprints. Marks received praise from much of the NBA media and reporters for his maneuvers throughout the last two off-seasons, so this year will be a grand test of whether these moves have moved the Nets franchise in the right direction.
One of Marks more accredited moves was hiring head coach Kenny Atkinson in 2016. Atkinson comes from the Mike D’Antoni coaching tree and has created a fast paced offense in his short time leading the team in Brooklyn as evidence by the Nets being first in offensive pace in 2016 and sixth in offensive pace last season in 2017. Atkinson will be tasked with taking a leap in wins this year with the young Nets team and that will be centered around young 22-year-old point guard D’Angelo Russell having a huge 2018-19 season.
