Wednesday, Oct. 17: Phoenix Suns vs Dallas Mavericks

The Phoenix Suns have the No. 1 pick from the 2018 NBA Draft in Deandre Ayton and the Mavericks have Luka Doncic, who was drafted third by the Hawks and traded to the Mavericks for the fifth pick.

Doncic and Ayton have impressed during the preseason and both are looked at as the top two choices for rookie of the year. Last year’s NBA Rookie of the Year race between Ben Simmons and Donovan Mitchell was captivating especially with Mitchell and Simmons constantly finding ways to top their previous performance.

Doncic enters the league as one of the most decorated rookies in history as he was the Euroleague MVP last season after leading Real Madrid to the championship.
