Jimmy Butler won’t be traded at all this season

It’s been over a month since Jimmy Butler officially demanded a trade for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The team reportedly had a deal in place that would’ve sent him to the Miami Heat, but that eventually fell apart.

Now, according to reports, talks have stalled and are pretty much nonexistent at the moment. Even though that could quickly change at any given moment, it doesn’t sound like Tom Thibodeau has any interest in moving Butler at this time. And that’s probably the biggest reason why he wasn’t dealt before the season, and when they reportedly had a deal in place with the Heat.

I don’t think, as long as the Wolves continue to win, he’s going to call Jimmy B’s bluff about leaving via free agency. Minnesota can offer him the richest deal, and he’s going to leave a good chunk of money if he signs (without a trade) elsewhere.
