Adam Silver has already overseen numerous groundbreaking changes during his time as commissioner of the NBA. Expansion could be his next project

The NBA commissioner dealt his hand on one of the biggest controversies in professional sports recently. The G-League will now offer contracts to certain young players as an alternative to college basketball, serving as a way around the “one-and-done” rule.

Now that Adam Silver tackled that issue, his next endeavor may be of even larger scale.

League expansion has been tossed around time and time again in recent years. With the notion gaining more and more momentum, it seems it is worth actually discussing some possible places for new franchises.

However, we’re not going into how the expansion could happen, only where the teams could end up.

Since there are six divisions, it would make sense for six new teams to be introduced, though those teams may not be introduced simultaneously.

Here are six places that could welcome and support an NBA franchise that currently are without one.
