Pittsburgh

Again, another city that has held on to numerous successful sports franchises but has been without a professional basketball team. The Steelers, Pirates and Penguins all call Pittsburgh home and the city has loved these three teams for years and years.

Most basketball fans hailing from the state of Pennsylvania have their allegiance with the Philadelphia 76ers. Let’s put this in other terms: imagine if Eagles and Steelers fans, Phillies and Pirates fans and Penguins and Flyers fans rooting for the same team. That’s nonsensical.

With that in mind, Pittsburgh needs a team. There’s no question that a city like Pittsburgh, regarded as one of the best sports cities in America, could sustain a thriving basketball team.

There are plenty of places to put an arena need be as well. Pittsburg is a massive city with room for a stadium, whether it’s built into the city like TD Garden in Boston or Capital One Arena, or if its on the outskirts of the city, similar to AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami. Both ways could work in Pittsburgh, so that won’t be of much concern.

There aren’t really any arguments against having an NBA franchise in Pittsburgh. There are only reasons for one, and quite frankly, there are too many reasons to put a team there that they all don’t fit on this page.
