San Diego

San Diego’s situation is the exact opposite to that of Las Vegas. The Chargers jumped ship to split a stadium with the Rams in Los Angeles, and don’t have another major team other than the Padres in the MLB, who cannot put together a winning season if their lives depended on it.

The San Diego State Aztecs are arguably more popular than the Padres at this point, which is not the best look. However, there are two ways to look at this: either the city doesn’t deserve another pro team or a new team can show up and reinvigorate the city’s fandom.

The latter is a big possibility, especially with all of the exciting teams in the Western Conference that would be playing in their building. That could jumpstart one heck of a fanbase behind a team in a city that has never needed it more.
