NBA Trade Rumors: Rockets offering 4 first-round picks for Jimmy Butler?
NBA Trade Rumors: Houston Rockets reportedly prepared to offer four first-round picks in exchange for Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler is still on the Minnesota Timberwolves, even after demanding a trade roughly six weeks ago. It’s been somewhat confusing, but Tom Thibodeau and company are sticking to the story that they simply haven’t received an offer that is to their liking.
Now, though, they may have just changed.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Houston Rockets are making another push to land Jimmy Butler. They’re reportedly willing to go as far as offering four first-round picks in exchange for Butler, which would be an outrageous offer if true.

Also, would this be enough to push Minnesota to make a move or even get the needle moving on a potential deal?
Another interesting point of view is that the Rockets have struggled mightily to start the season, and perhaps they feel like they need to get a third star at any cost. That could be another factor here too.
"[via ESPN]The Houston Rockets are making a renewed bid to acquire Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Jimmy Butler, including four future first-round draft picks in their most recent offer, league sources told ESPN."
Question is, how legit is this report? In the trade rumors business, there are always whispers that will pop up to try and get a trade market going for a player. Things have been fairly quiet on the Jimmy Butler trade front until today.
When it was reported that the Rockets could offer four first-round pick in exchange for Butler.
Assuming that this report is legit, this would be a huge haul for the Timberwolves. They’d be getting a nice set of picks that they could either turnaround and flip to clear some of their complicated contracts, or they could package them together to land other pieces or move up in this year’s draft.
The Wolves have many options here, but sooner or later they will need to make a decision on Butler. And the desperate Rockets are turning into a better option with every passing day that they continue to struggle.
