NBA Trade Rumors: Executives from around the Association believe that Jimmy Butler will be moved sooner rather than later

It’s been nearly two months since Jimmy Butler’s trade request went public. And while the Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly been looking for a trade offer that fits their asking price, there has been no real traction over the last couple of weeks on the trade front.

Or none that has come public. Until just a couple days ago, when it was reported that the Houston Rockets had upped their pursuit of Jimmy, with reportedly a big offer, which included as many as four first-round picks.

The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor dropped some knowledge of the reported four first-round pick offer that the Rockets reportedly have on the table. Although, hidden in his tweet is a potentially deeper message – one that suggests Butler is expected to be traded sooner rather than later.

If this tweet is one par, and you take O’Connor at his word, that means we could see this Jimmy Butler saga end as soon as next week. And everyone involved – including the teams that are being either used, or dragged, by the Wolves – could use an conclusion to this entire mess.

The teams that will likely be involved until the end will be the Rockets and the Miami Heat, who reportedly reopened talks with the Wolves earlier today.

It’s ultimately going to come down to when the Wolves come to the realization that they’re not going to get equal value in exchange for Butler. And if the Rockets offered four first-round picks, and the Wolves still balked at that offer, you’d have to really question how much they’re willing to play ball here.

Something’s got to give. And the Wolves will eventually have to cut their losses, and, thankfully, it appears that we’re close to the finish line. Let’s just hope no one jinxes it this time.
