Could we see more big changes after firing Tyronn Lue for the Cleveland Cavaliers?

After losing LeBron James to free agency over the summer, the Cleveland Cavaliers attempted to simply try to act as if all was normal and continue to build around Kevin Love, after he agreed to a new contract extension.

However, six games into the season, it’s clear that it can’t work that way. Just a week and a half into the new season, the Cavs have elected to fire head coach Tyronn Lue after the team got out to an 0-6 start to the year.

Larry Drew‘s name has been thrown around as a possible interim head coach for the remainder of the season. This isn’t al that surprising, considering that Lue was a LeBron guy and that he probably had the job because it’s what LeBron wanted or at least preferred.

And when LeBron leaves a franchise, these are the types of things that sometimes happen. It happened when LeBron left Cleveland and is now happening again. Question is, is this the first of the potential of many moves to follow or is this a one off?

The team has plenty of pieces that are remaining from the LeBron tenure – names like Tristain Thompson, J.R. Smith and Kyle Korver come to mind – and you can’t help but wonder that they could look to make more moves as they continue to translate away from the last few years.

The 0-6 start can’t help. The team has looked bad on both the offensive and defense ends of the floor, with the Cavs have the second-worst net rating in the NBA.

The only real bright spot is Love, but even that is still not set in stone. Would it really be all that surprising to see this team test the trade waters on him at some point ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline?

I wouldn’t put it past the Cavs. Especially at the state they’re in right now.
