19. Memphis Grizzlies (3-2)

I liked the Memphis Grizzlies a lot, a few years ago. But as they returned the exact same roster, with a few additions including Jaren Jackson Jr., I still have my reservation whether this team can actually be a playoff contender in the Western Conference.

I just feel like this team is built for a team before the crazed 3-point range era that the NBA has transitioned into over the last couple of seasons. And I’m afraid that the Grizzlies, while trying to get their roster healthy, has been left behind.

They will likely be in the race to finish in the top 8 of the West this season, no question. They have talent. Although, I’m skeptical about the type of noise that they’ll be able to make once they get to the postseason. Plus, Marc Gasol is a free agent after the season. This team could look a whole lot different in the matter of a few months.
