5. Detroit Pistons (4-1)

The Detroit Pistons are off to a start that not many, if any, expected this team to get on. Blake Griffin is playing like an NBA MVP candidate, And, at least through the first two weeks, Reggie Jackson is also back healthy and playing at a high level.

The fact that we haven’t even mentioned Andre Drummond yet just shows how deep this team can be, and is one of the reason why there’s a chance this team could crack the top 4 teams in the East when the season is all said and done.

The Pistons will be a dark horse in the East this season, but might have the third or fourth best player in the confidence. And when a team has that, they always have a chance to throw a wrench in predictions.
