24. Dallas Mavericks (2-3)

Having to survive for the first two weeks of the 2018-19 NBA season without Harrison Barnes wasn’t easy, but was an opportunity for Luka Doncic to prove that he was worth the pick. And that’s exactly what he did.

Through the first few games, Doncic is averaging 20 points, six rebounds and four assists per contest. That’s not normal for a rookie coming into the league, and that’s probably why this team did everything in their power to land the Slovenian sensation.

So far, they’ve been proven right and he’s arguably been the most dynamic rookie of the year thus far. He’s still young and the season is just beginning, but the Mavs look like geniuses. This team will get better with Barnes back in the fold, but it could take a few more games for them to really begin to round into shape.
