NBA MVP Ladder: Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant setting the league on fire
8. LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers
Stats: 27 points, 8 assists, 9 rebounds
What would an NBA MVP Ladder be without including LeBron James on the list? And the biggest reason why he’s actually not higher is because he’s still getting in sync with his new teammates, and they’ve struggled a bit to start the year.
The Los Angeles Lakers are 2-4 with their only wins coming against the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets. With that said, LeBron is still doing LeBron things. If there is any nitpicking The King, it’s that he’s struggled with his outside shot to start the year.
He’s only shooting 20 percent from deep this season, on nearly six attempts per game. His outside shot will continue to improve, so that’s not really anything to worry about. Assuming that the team also makes some overall improvements, LeBron is only going to rise on this list.
