NBA Rumors: Despite the poor start to the seasons, and reported dysfunction, the Washington Wizards will not fire Scott Brooks
The Washington Wizards may have gotten off to a woeful 1-5 start to the season, and they may already need a come to Jesus moment inside that locker room, but that doesn’t mean the front office is ready to throw in the towel on this team’s construction.
For at least the time being, Scott Brooks, the team’s head coach, is not in danger of losing his job. Which is sometimes the first reaction if a team jumps out to a poor start.

The Wizards have an extremely talented roster, so after considering that it’s even more disappointing to see the type of start that the team has gotten off to. Led by John Wall and Bradley Beal, this team shouldn’t be struggling against some of the lowly types of teams in the NBA.
Yet, here they are two weeks into the season with losses against teams like the Sacramento Kings. And the Kings aren’t as bad as they’ve been in the past, but they’re also not at the same level of Washington.
With that said, it’s going to be interesting to see how this situation develops further. The team needs to make a turnaround sooner rather than later, and it would still be an utter failure to see this team miss the playoffs entirely this season.
Despite the poor start to the year, the prevailing opinion is that this team will still qualify for the playoffs. I don’t think anyone really argues with that point. It’s the expectation at this point. And that leaves this team with a ton of work to do over the next few weeks and months.
