Taking a closer look at eight rookies that have looked like the real deal during the 2018-19 NBA season
We are about six or seven games into the NBA season right now and there are already discussions happening on the newest NBA rookie class. The 2018 NBA Draft class was looked at as a deep class, but just lacking the star power of the 2017 class.
This current crop of NBA rookies is already showing their worth on the court. Let’s take a look at how some of the new players are doing at being an NBA rookie.
Marvin Bagley III, Sacramento Kings
This was my pick for the ROY in the NBA. His first action with the Sacramento Kings was a bit underwhelming. Bagley only played 12 minutes in his debut against the Jazz, but from that point on he’s been doing much better.
This NBA rookie is leading his team in blocks at 1.3 a game, so the contribution is there for the number two pick overall. His scoring average is currently fifth on the team at 12.7 and he is second on the Kings in rebounds at 6.9 per game. Like any other NBA Rookie, Bagley will figure out his role and what he can do on the court.
