24. Dallas Mavericks (2-7)

Last week: 24

The Dallas Mavericks have struggled out of the game, and appear in a spot where they’re close to breaking through and rattling off a few wins in a row, but then for one reason or another remember they’re the Mavs.

And the bad news is that Dirk Nowitzki is still weeks away, apparently. Even though Dirk is no longer the superstar that he was, but his simple presence on the court can make all the different, especially for such a young team.

He’s essentially an extension of the coach on the floor, and could help show and teach things that Dennis Smith Jr. and Luka Doncic simply can’t learn in the film room. Plus, those two aren’t a bad ground floor for Dallas. They’re exciting.
