Power ranking the top 10 NBA backcourt duos through the first month of the 2018-19 season

We’re roughly a month into the 2018-19 NBA season and most teams have played around 15, or so, games. So far, we have seen a focus on offensive as teams are playing much faster, shooting more 3-pointers and posting up less and less.

Couple that with the NBA’s updated rules regarding “freedom of movement” and because of that, we’ve seen some really explosive backcourt play this season.

With that said, let’s take a look at the top 10 NBA backcourt duos through the first month of the new campaign.

10. Brooklyn Nets – D’Angelo Russell & Caris LeVert*

The Brooklyn Nets have combined a Lakers cast away and an injured 20th draft pick into one of the best young backcourts in the league. LeVert recently went down with a gruesome injury, but is expected to make a return at some point this season.

Russell is averaging a career-high 17 points and five assists on 38 percent shooting from 3-point range, while, before his injury, LeVert was averaging 18 points, four rebounds and four assists on 48 percent shooting from the field.

Sean Marks and Kenny Atkinson deserve a ton of credit for snagging – and developing – two of the best young, up-and-coming backcourt players in the NBA.
