 NBA Trade Rumors: The Charlotte Hornets have reportedly inquired about the possibility of trading for Bradley Beal, who the Washington Wizards could be shopping

The Charlotte Hornets have gotten off to a nice start to the 2018-19 NBA season. Through the first month of the season, powered by a career year on the part of Kemba Walker, the Hornets are 8-8 on the season and currently in the top 8 of the Eastern Conference.

And a day after it was reported that the Washington Wizards would be open to potentially making some blockbuster trades, including possibly moving John Wall and/or Bradley Beal, it is being reported that the Hornets have inquired about the possibility of acquiring Beal.

According to the report, it’s not clear if there has been a formal offer (or even what could be involved in such offer) or if any progress has been made between the two teams. Just that Charlotte is potentially interested in making a deal.

Obviously, you’d imagine that this would be a move to try and surround Kemba Walker with more talent and help. Although, I’m not sure what the Hornets would offer that could get Washington interested – other than potentially a truckload of first-round picks or throwing in one of their young players, such as Malik Monk or Miles Bridges and a couple of picks.

Either way, it could get complicated for the Hornets, especially when it comes to having to match contracts with Washington.

Nevertheless, it appears that Charlotte is interested in upgrading their roster – as they should be. Kemba has gotten this team off to a solid start and a adding a player at the caliber of Beal’s could really shift the ceiling for this team this season. My guess is that this is the first of many teams that will inquire about Beal.
