NBA Trade Rumors: In an attempt to get help for Anthony Davis, the New Orleans Pelicans could try to trade for Otto Porter Jr.
The New Orleans Pelicans attempted to crash the Jimmy Butler party a couple weeks ago, before he was eventually traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. Although, the Pelicans refused to deal pieces that the Minnesota Timberwolves were asking for.
In the end, the Pelicans remained as is and Butler was dealt somewhere else. Nevertheless, the message was sent. New Orleans is trying to collect talent to stick next to Anthony Davis. Whispers have already begun about his potential departure from the franchise, and every game is a battle for this team beyond AD.
When he plays great, the team generally has a chance of winning – no matter who the opponent may be. When h isn’t on his game, the team usually loses. Not great, especially for a franchise that continuously is trying to sell itself to a star player.

And now that, reportedly, the entire Washington Wizards roster could be on the trade block – or at the very least not untouchable – there is another potential piece that the Pelicans could target. And according to a report from The Ringer, they are interested in potentially trading for Otto Porter Jr.
"[via The Ringer]There are whispers that New Orleans is interested in Wizards forward Otto Porter Jr."
Porter has taken a bit of a step back this season, and is only 11 points and four rebounds per game on 46 percent shooting from the field and 36 percent from 3-point range. Although, last season, Porter had a really solid year.
Last season, Porter averaged 15 points and six rebounds on 50 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3-point range. If he can get back to that level of play, and potentially his role with the Wizards hasn’t helped this season, there’s no question that he can help a team. Potentially one that needs productive, difference makers like the Pelicans.
Question is, do the Pelicans have enough to strike a deal with the Wizards?
