NBA Trade Rumors: After a rocky rookie season with the Philadelphia 76ers, and first few games this year, Markelle Fultz would like a fresh start

It was not supposed to be like this for Markelle Fultz and the Philadelphia 76ers. Fultz was supposed to be one of the final pieces towards the Sixers completing the process. However, through the first rookie, plus a few games into his sophomore, season, it’s been everything but that for the two parties.

Fultz simply doesn’t look right and is nothing like the player he was touted to be coming out of college. He was the No. 1 overall draft pick and has been everything but that thus far. He’s battled a shoulder injury, but there seems to be more to it. With that way that he’s struggled thus far, there has to be.

And according to a report from The Athletic, there appears to be. Per this report, not only is he battling a shoulder issue, but he’s also now being hindered by a wrist injury that is hurting his ability to shoot. And, if you’ve seen him shoot recently, especially free throws, that makes some sense.

Oh, and buried in this report is the fact that he’d also like a fresh start on a new team. Uhm, wow.

"[The Athletic]Sources with knowledge of Fultz’s thinking have also told The Athletic that the player would prefer a fresh start on a new team."

This is kind of a low-key trade demand by Fultz and his camp, leaking it to the media. Earlier this week it was reported that Fultz was not going to practice or play another game for the Sixers until he met with a specialist.

This is just the next step in the drama.

Question is, what will the Sixers do now that this report is out there in the open?

This entire situation got all the more interesting. And I’d have to think that we’re not even close to the end of it.
