The Miami Heat have the sixth worst record in the NBA and are stuck in mediocrity, but who’s to blame for the team’s mess?

Just a few weeks ago, the Miami Heat believed that it was only a matter of time until they completed a trade for Jimmy Butler. Fast forward a month later, and the Heat have the NBA’s sixth worst record in the NBA and Butler is in Philadelphia.

It’s amazing how quickly things can turn in the NBA, and what has happened to the Heat over the last few weeks is only one example of that.

Miami is 6-11, and even though when you look at the team’s roster that’s not entirely surprising, when you talk to fans or many around the team this start was certainly not expected. Especially when you consider that the opening portion of their schedule was supposed to be the easy part of it.

But who is to blame for this mess that the Heat are stuck in? Before we examine that, we have to look back at how we got here. Let’s take a trip down memory lane to see how the foundation of this current mess was set.
