Carmelo Anthony: Retire

Current team: Houston Rockets (NWT)

The 10-time all-star hasn’t done much since his rough departure from the New York Knicks in 2017. During Carmelo Anthony‘s time with the Denver Nuggets (2003-11), he was among the leagues best scorers with a huge impact on his team taking them to seven straight playoff appearances averaging 24 points, 6.5 rebounds, and three assists during all his time in the mile-high city.

Nowadays, Melo’s having trouble even finding himself a bench role. After receiving a buyout from the Atlanta Hawks who acquired him in a trade from a one year stint with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Anthony tried his best to fit with close friend Chris Paul on the Houston Rockets. However, The Rockets have announced that they will be parting ways with Melo as he just wasn’t a fit even with a bench role.

On OKC he was opposed to accepting anything but a starting position but lacked the stats to maintain that role and was subsequently traded. Carmelo Anthony only lasted 10 games with Houston, and in his tenth game, he shot 1 for 11 from the field and 0 for 6 from 3-point range.

It is clear that Carmelo Anthony just isn’t a fit for the teams he’s been trying to get to. He’s a former star washed up who just isn’t the scorer he once was.
