Coming into the season, not much was expected of the Memphis Grizzlies. After taking a big step back last season, and landing one of the top picks in the 2018 NBA Draft, Memphis has bounced back in a big way so far this season.
Perhaps what is most impressive about this team’s recent resurgence is the fact that they’re doing it the old fashioned way – or, in a way, the Grizzlies way. They play at the slowest pace in the NBA and while their offense is still a mess, are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA.
In a league that is quickly transforming and becoming a faster-paced game, the Grizzlies are saying never mind, we’ll do it our way. Grit N’ Grind forever.
