NBA Trade Rumors: The Washington Wizards are reportedly not interested in trading Otto Porter Jr. at the moment, but could that change soon?

Through the first quarter of the 2018-19 NBA season, the Washington Wizards are 9-14 and currently sitting outside the top 8 in the Eastern Conference. Even though the Wizards are playing somewhat better as of late, especially considering their start, they still leave a lot to be desired.

And while it was reported a few weeks back that the Wizards were open to trading anyone of the roster, perhaps not anymore. According to a recent report, the Wizards are not exactly on board with trading Otto Porter Jr., who reportedly caught the eyes of the Kings.

However, don’t expect the Wizards to part ways with their young, talented wing.

More from Sir Charles In Charge

"[via NBC Sports Washington]Though the Kings may have interest in Porter, the Wizards maintain their stance that they are not looking to trade him, according to a person familiar with the situation. That means no plans to ship him to Sacramento or anywhere else."

Over the last couple of weeks, it was reported that Bradley Beal had a high price tag and now that Porter is not really on the table. Perhaps the Wizards are trying to spell something out for us – that perhaps the only real player on the table is John Wall?

Interesting enough, he’s also the player that would probably be the most difficult to trade because of his contract that jumps to the super-max next season.

Again, this is largely just me speculating from everything that has been reported over the last few weeks. But I also can’t help but wonder how much this could possibly change if A) the Wizards begin to turn around their season, or B) they completely fall off the map and spiral even more to the bottom of the conference.

The Wizards are one team to really keep an eye on over the next few weeks, and they could have a fire sale on their roster by the NBA Trade Deadline.
