NBA: The 7 best early-season buyout candidates
By Kyle Crabbe
Kenneth Faried, Brooklyn Nets
Possible Destinations: Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards
Best Fit: Washington Wizards
With the Brooklyn Nets having another tough season under, there’s reason to believe veterans like DeMarre Carroll, Jared Dudley, Kenneth Faried and Ed Davis all could be potential contract buyout candidates. Out of this group the player that has the highest probability of being bought out is Foward Kenneth Faried.
Faried has never seemed to crack the rotation in Brooklyn with the Atkinson-led Nets. Faried was acquired by the Nets via trade in the off-season but has never received significant playing time since joining. Farid is still only 29 years old and hasn’t been given much opportunity to showcase his talents over the past three seasons.
A team that could use Faried talents and could be a solid landing spot for the Nets’ forward if he was to be moved is the Washington Wizards. The Wizards have struggled for much of the season this year much in part due to their struggles rebounding the basketball. Their rebounding troubles has contributed significantly to their awful defense for the early parts of the 2018 Season.
