Roughly a third into the 2018-19 NBA season, we take a close look at a few of the early favorites for the Coach of the Year award

The 2018-19 NBA season is officially past the quarter mark as we enter the middle of December. This season has seen a lot of parity in the Western Conference standings while seeing the East being taken over by the Toronto Raptors.

The East has teams like Milwaukee, Boston and Philadelphia looking like serious contenders while the West has its top 14 teams separated by only six games. Several coaches have proven their worth early this season from Rick Carlisle to Nick Nurse to name a few.

With that said here’s an early look at the five best candidates for the NBA’s Coach of the Year award, in no particular order.
