Doc Rivers, Los Angeles Clippers
Much like the Mavericks and Rick Carlisle, the Los Angeles Clippers and Doc Rivers were not expected to be one of the playoff teams in the Western Conference this season. As it stands, the Clippers are 17-10 and in 4th place in the West standings.
Rivers entered the season as someone who could possibly be replaced if things started off bad but instead the Clippers have been one of league’s biggest stories and it appears that Rivers has a big hand in it.
The Clippers don’t have a MVP candidate or even a favorite for the all-star game but they’ve found a way to win by playing solid ball on offense as they rank 6th in offensive rating. And Rivers should get credit for that.
