NBA Trade Rumors: Pelicans, Kings and Pistons appear to be among the most active in trying to improve their roster as the deadline approaches

The NBA Trade Deadline may still be a couple months away, but by the time we blink it will be on the cusp of expiring. And while we’ve already seen a few trades so far this season, we can expect a few more to be completed before the deadline.

Even more so after Dec. 15, when a number of contracts signed over the off-season become eligible to be included in deals. Question is, which teams will be interested in improving their roster as we quickly approach to the mid-way point of the 2018-19 NBA season?

Well, according to a report from ESPN, three of the most actives teams at the moment are the New Orleans Pelicans, Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings.

"[via ESPN]But what about the buyers? League executives report the New Orleans Pelicans, Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings lead the list of teams calling around looking for ways to upgrade their rosters in recent weeks."

Interestingly, the story on all three of these teams are quite different. The Pelicans have been vastly under-performing for much of the season and are in dire need of help – even more so considering the entire Anthony Davis situation. The Pelicans can’t afford to have another lost season.

As for the Pistons and Kings, both of these teams, in the top 8 of their respective conferences, have over-performed and would be in the market for added help in order for them to solidify their spot in the playoffs.

It’ll be interesting to see which players each of these teams target, although the fact that these teams are even buyers in 2018 would be a breath of fresh air. The Pistons and Kings, over the last few years, have been more of a punchline than relevant in the East. Making their way back in the playoffs would not only be good for their respective fanbases, but for the NBA as a whole.

Expect an active next few weeks, especially in the rumor mill. Question is, how many trades will actually go down?
