NBA Trade Rumors: After falling out of the rotation entirely, the Chicago Bulls are looking to trade Jabari Parker

It’s amazing how quickly things have changed for Jabari Parker and the Chicago Bulls. Just a few months ago, the Bulls hoped that Parker could become one of their primary building blocks, next to Zach LaVine.

One third into the 2018-19 NBA season, things have already fallen apart for the two sides. Parker has reportedly fallen out of the rotation, while struggling with consistency through his first few games as a Bull.

But it doesn’t stop there. Now, according to a report from the Chicago Tribune, it doesn’t sound like Parker is going to be with Chicago for much longer if they have it their way. The Bulls are reportedly actively shopping Parker, hoping to find a new home for him.

"The Bulls, according to sources, have engaged in trade talks with several teams regarding Parker, who fell out of new coach Jim Boylen’s rotation Thursday."

While it might sound difficult to trade a player in the first year of a rich two-year contract (worth $40 million), it likely won’t be that difficult to move. Parker’s second year is a team option, which means his contract is essentially an expiring deal.

And if the Bulls are desperate to get rid of Parker, especially if they view him as a distraction in the locker room, then perhaps we could see a move take place sooner rather than later.

Parker can officially be traded Dec 15 – tomorrow – so it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see Chicago try to get something done sooner rather than later. Parker has flashed his talent through the first few years of his career, even while battling numerous injuries.

The big issue with him is on the defensive end where he can’t seem to get it right. He’s one of the worst overall plus-minus players in the NBA (ranked 439th in the NBA in Real Plus-Minus (-4.17), and has been playing as inconsistent as ever – especially shooting – this year.

Jabari Parker simply didn’t work out in Chicago. And that’s OK.
