NBA Trade Rumors: Detroit Pistons interested in Markelle Fultz?
NBA Trade Rumors: The Detroit Pistons are reportedly interested in possibly trading for Markelle Fultz, but would it be a good move?
When it comes to the Markelle Fultz–Philadelphia 76ers saga, at this point the best resolution is probably a clean break. Fultz has battled through numerous injuries over his first two years of his career and has never looked right.
Fultz has recently been diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome and is currently rehabbing that. He likely won’t return to the floor anytime soon (he’s out 3-6 weeks), but could still be moved. At this point, it would likely be the best move.
Fultz needs a clean start, and the Sixers could also benefit from not having this storyline continue to hang over their head.

Question is, will the Sixers be able to find the right deal out there on both fronts. Not only finding teams that are interested, but at the same time the right price. I have a hard time believing that the Sixers are just going to hand Fultz over, and would likely be asking for a first-round pick, at least, to start.
One of those answers could be the Detroit Pistons.
"[via Detroit Free Press]According to a league source, the Pistons have interest in Fultz, the No. 1 overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2017 NBA draft."
The Pistons would be an interesting landing spot, but at the same time I’m not sure if it would be the perfect one. Detroit does have a need for added help in the back-court, and there is a role for Fultz to play in.
But, ultimately, this will all depend on health. If Fultz is not healthy, none of this matters. And until he gets right, there won’t be a team in the NBA that makes sense for him. Assuming that he can get healthy, or at least is back on track, then finding a new home would be great for Fultz.
After entering the league as the No. 1 overall pick and huge expectations, Fultz needs to reset his career. Many are already labeling him a bust, and that’s not exactly fair to him or his current team. These two parties need a trade from each other in the worst way.
