2. Zion Williamson, F, Duke
If there is a 1-B in the NBA Draft, there’s no other than Zion Williamson who is also one of the most explosive overall players that we’ve seen in recent history. Williamson may not be as smooth as an offensive player as a few other players on this list, but he’s just as effective.
Williamson is averaging 20 points, nine rebounds and two blocks per game so far this season with Duke, and has even shown the ability to hit an outside shot or two. However, his shooting hasn’t been as consistent as many would like to see. He’s only shooting 14 percent from 3 on just over one attempt per game.
If there’s going to be a knock on Williamson as he soon makes the transition to the NBA, it’s going to come at the expense of a consistent jump shot. Still, his athleticism should be enough to catapult him into the conversation for possibly being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
