Julius Randle, New Orleans Pelicans

Not having the pressure to play with the LeBron James has certainly benefited the ex-Los Angeles Laker. Randle has taken his new role with the New Orleans Pelicans and soared. Just about every important player stat is up since he has joined Pelicans.

Randle has increased his points per game to 19.3 from his career average 14.2 points per game. The ability to play with Anthony Davis who demands double and sometimes triple teams allows Julius Randle to slash to basket and get easy buckets. Getting to rim more has allowed Julius Randle to increase his shooting percentage to 55 percent. That’s an increase of five percent.

The open looks he gets from three point range have bumped his 3-point percentage up to 32 percent, up from 27 percent. Randle’s tough nosed type of play has also resulted in him getting more rebounds as well. His rebound average is 9.5 now. With these kind of stats so far in 2018, it’s no wonder why Julius Randle should be in the running for most improved player.
