Jamal Murray, Denver Nuggets

Jamal Murray‘s rise certainly coincides with the rise of the Denver Nuggets this year. Currently the Nuggets are the number one seed in the Western Conference and Jamal Murray has been a big reason why. His points, rebounds, and assists are all up. He’s averaging 17.5 points/game, up from 13.2 points/game.

Playing both the shooting guard and point guard certainly gives Murray ample opportunities to score. Just ask Kyrie Irving about his ability to score. Jamal Murray has taken a more active role on the glass too. His rebounding is up to 4.4, up from 3.3. A guard that hits the boards? Coaches love that mentality out of their guards. Especially when they have the athletic ability of a Jamal Murray.

Handling the point guard has also increased his assists. He’s up almost two assists a game. Murray has gone from 3.0 to 4.7 assists per game. That tells me he’s getting more people involved on the offensive end of the floor and that is good for the Nugget team as a whole.
