Assuming that Luka Doncic is the real deal, and everything that we’ve seen thus far suggests that he really might be, the Dallas Mavericks will have an opportunity to have one of the best young tandems in the NBA for years to come.

But part of that will fall on the continued development of Dennis Smith Jr. While he has been better this year, compared to his rookie season, if he can take another step in his development, and really take a lead here, this team will be all the better.

The Mavericks appear to be in good hands moving forward, and a big reason why is DSJ and the emergence of their prized rookie.
