Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns

This year isn’t the first time we’ve seen a case for Devin Booker to be an All-Star. The former Kentucky Wildcat has been, up until this season with the drafting of Deandre Ayton, all that the Phoenix Suns have to be thankful for.

Booker has been the backbone of a sorry Suns team for the past four years. With little to no help around him, he really is and has been, the only player that can make the Suns competitive. Booker right now is averaging 24.8 PPG, 3.7 RPG, and 6.9 APG and currently holds the record for most points scored in a single game by an active NBA player (70 against the Boston Celtics on March 24th, 2017).

It’s clear as to why Booker has always been in the All-Star conversation. However, The Suns reside in the Western Conference which for years has been the dominant half of the league and only seems to get tougher as time goes on. There simply is just too much talent in the west for Booker to really be considered for an All-Star appearance over the other stars in the conference. Booker is also only 22 years old, so if he produces at the level he is for years to come his ceiling will only get higher. Perhaps this season he will finally get his chance but only time will tell.
