NBA Trade Rumors: 5 teams who should target Dennis Smith Jr.

D.J. Augustin has started every game at the point guard position for the Orlando Magic this season. In 2019, that’s a pretty crazy stat to hear. The Magic don’t have a point guard at the moment and are essentially using Augustin as a stopgap. That could change should Orlando make a move for Dennis Smith Jr.

I’m not exactly sure what the Mavs would demand from the Magic, but they do have some pieces that could appeal Dallas. Orlando has a number of young prospects on their roster, and their first-round picks are considered valuable – Orlando hasn’t qualified for the playoffs since the days of Dwight Howard.

Adding DSJ to Aaron Gordon and Jonathan Issac (if neither of those two players would be part of a bigger deal) would be a great next step for the Magic. At the very least, it would bring some intrigue back to Orlando.
