As the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline quickly approaches, we explore five teams that should be kept an eye on in the coming weeks

The 2019 NBA Trade Deadline is less than a month away, and there are many narratives that are beginning to take shape. Even though we haven’t seen many big names in the rumor mill as we’re accustomed to leading up to deadline day, you can never predict what’s going to happen in the NBA.

Things can change on a dime, even more so when there’s a number of teams that are desperate to make a move at the deadline. Jimmy Butler is a big name that we’ve already seen traded this year, and my gut tells me that he also won’t be the last.

Which brings us to our next point, what teams should be active and which should swallow their pride and let this season play out. There are always teams looking to shed salary, and there actually might be the most buyers on the open market that we’ve seen in recent history.

Teams like the Brooklyn Nets and Sacramento Kings are expected to be buyers, two teams that have been sellers for most of the last decade. And those are just two examples, plus there are always deadline day surprises.

With that in mind, here are five teams that should be kept an eye on, for a many reasons (which we’ll discuss), leading up to the 2019 NBA Draft Deadline.
