NBA Rumors: After agreeing to a buyout from the Brooklyn Nets, Kenneth Faried is expected to sign with the Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets have managed to offset many of their injuries this season, from James Harden to Chris Paul. However, losing Clint Capela for at least the next month will be one big test for this team.

At the moment, the Rockets are 25-19, good enough for 6th in the West and just 1.5 games back of the third seed. By all means have the Rockets recovered from their woeful start to the season, but this team needs to hold down the fort a few more weeks until they’re fully healthy again.

One move that could help is brining in front-court help, considering that Nene is really the only reliable big currently active on the roster. And that’s exactly what the Rockets are expected to address with the signing of Kenneth Faried, who recently agreed to a buyout from the Brooklyn Nets.

Faried has only appeared in 12 games this season for the Nets, averaging five points and four rebounds during the short sample size this season. However, in the past, has shown real value at playing the small ball big position.

Faried isn’t much of a 3-point shooter and doesn’t have much of an overall offensive game, but he is your prototypical energy guy off the bench. Faried is going to come in, hustle and make the opposing bigs work as he likes to crash the glass and impact the game in ways that aren’t always seen on the stat sheet.

By no means will Faried be the answer to Capela’s injury, but he will, at the very least, help the Rockets survive over the next month without their starting center. Houston may not be done, either. This is one of potentially a few moves that we could see the Rockets make as the NBA Trade Deadline quickly approaches.
