Honourable Mention: Andre Roberson, Oklahoma City Thunder
While Roberson doesn’t technically qualify for this list due to the fact that he hasn’t played due to injury since about midway through last season, but the man deserves to be included as he is one of the best examples of a player that is more valuable than their stats.
For his career, he’s averaged just 4.6 points and 4.0 rebounds a night and is known for being one of the worst outside shooters in the entire league. However, despite this, he still garners 25-30 minutes per game thanks in part to his intangibles but mainly because of his lockdown defence. When at 100 percent, Andre Roberson is in the discussion for best defender in the league. He’s that good!
As well as locking up the perimeter, Roberson is also a solid cutter and finisher around the basket so he’s not totally useless on offence. And for a two guard, pulling down 6.4 boards per 36 minutes ain’t half bad either.
