NBA Trade Rumors: The Utah Jazz are looking to make a big splash as the NBA Trade Deadline quickly approaches, and could be targeting Mike Conley
After a slow start to the season, in which the team spent most of the first half of the season out of the top 8 in the Western Conference, the Utah Jazz are now beginning to creep their way up the standings.
They are 27-22, have won eight of their last 10 games and are looking to make a splash as the NBA Trade Deadline draws near. They’ve already expressed interest in Otto Porter Jr., who may or may not hit the trade block depending on how the Washington Wizards look over the next week or so, but there is an even bigger name that the team could be targeting.
According to The Athletic’s Tony Jones (subscription required), the Jazz have also expressed interest in Mike Conley, who has reportedly recently hit the trade block.

If nothing else, it’s certainly a development that the Jazz appear to be prepared to swing big when it comes to making a big move at the deadline. They are only three games back of the 3rd seed in the West, and Donovan Mitchell is playing lights out at the moment.
Perhaps if the Jazz can snag a difference-maker at the deadline, then they can be that dark horse contender that many believed they’d be before the season started. However, landing a player like Conley – or even Porter for that matter – won’t come easy.
Specifically dealing with the Grizzlies, they’d likely be asked to take on a contract, possibly that of Chandler Parsons. Short of finding a third team that is willing to play ball, that could prove to be difficult for the Jazz. They don’t have much salary room, and taking on both Parsons and Conley is downright impossible.
However, if they can find the right deal, adding a player like Conley can’t be overstated. He’s a good defender and has plenty of playoff experience. He’s the type of player that you want on your team when you’re in the post-season.
Question is, whether it comes to Porter or Conley, can the Jazz find the right formula to get a deal done?
