San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs have been much better as of late, so much so that it wouldn’t exactly be all that surprising to see they host a first-round playoff series. However, if there’s one big hole in their depth chart, there’s no question that it’s at the point guard position.
San Antonio lost their starter before the season even started, and would be in an even better spot if they had a reliable, productive lead guard. Perhaps Mike Conley could be that late-season addition to solidify this team’s starting 5.
This isn’t exactly a Gregg Popovich type of move, but desperate times call for desperate measures. If the Spurs want to be real players in the post-season, this is the type of move that needs to be done ahead of the trade deadline.
