Frank Ntilikina to the Pistons

Pistons get: Frank Ntilikina and Courtney Lee

Knicks get: Reggie Jackson and Stanley Johnson

Now on the surface, this may not look like the best trade for the Knicks since it would mean they take on Reggie Jackson’s bad contract. He’s making $17 million this season and is set to make $18 mil next year. And based on the way he’s been playing so far, this has to be one of the worst-value contracts in the league. However – on the flip side – New York would also get rid of Courtney Lee’s contract which may be just as bad or even worse than Jackson’s.

A couple of years ago, Jackson was playing like he was almost worth this hefty contract when he averaged 19 points and six assists a game so if he could somewhat regain form in New York, the Knicks would come out of this deal looking like geniuses.

They would also get Stanley Johnson in the deal who has looked like a bust thus far in his NBA career but has shown flashes and could just be in need of a new situation. The Big Apple could be the fresh start he’s looking for.
