Frank Ntilikina to the Pacers

Pacers get: Frank Ntilikina and Courtney Lee

Knicks get: Tyreke Evans

Again, the Knicks would manage to get rid of Courtney Lee’s contract in this Frank Ntilikina trade which is a plus and in return would get proven vet Tyreke Evans who appears to have a tendency to follow up every good season he has with a sub-par, underwhelming one (which is what has happened this year).

After putting up 19, 5 and 5 last year, Evans has followed that up with a disappointing 11, 3 and 2 this year for the Pacers. Now, part of this is on Tyreke, obviously, but the man also gets played out of position a lot as he seems to thrive best when playing at the point guard spot so if New York could figure out how to best utilise him, he could turn into a valuable piece.

On the other hand, if it didn’t work out in New York, he would likely find another home in the summer and the Knicks would have just freed up some more cap room for free agency.

This trade would have been more likely about a week ago, before Victor Oladipo went down with a season-ending injury since now, Evans becomes more valuable to the Pacers’ playoff push whereas acquiring Ntilikina would be building for the future.
