NBA Trade Rumors: Taking a closer look at five sleeper teams that could join the pursuit of Anthony Davis ahead of the trade deadline

After months of speculation and rumors about Anthony Davis and his future in a New Orleans Pelicans uniform, the AD sweepstakes has officially begun.

The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics have been tied to Davis for a very long time, but it’s not a guarantee that either one of them will land him at the NBA Trade Deadline or during the off-season.

Here are five sleeper teams that could swoop in and steal Anthony Davis at the NBA Trade Deadline.

Los Angeles Clippers

Clippers Get: Anthony Davis, E’Twaun Moore 

Pelicans Get: Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jerome Robinson, first-round pick 

The Los Angeles Clippers are currently 28-23 and 8th in the Western Conference. The Clippers could make a move for Davis and try to convince him to be a Clipper, instead of a Laker, by pitching the fact AD would be the best player ever to suit up for them, he would still be in LA and he could recruit another Star to team up with (*cough* Kyrie Irving, Kemba walker or KD *cough*).
